The F0 Carpintis Vontehillo pair that i have just acquired, male has black blotch on its dorsal fin and female doesn't. I was thinking the black blotch is a female, but they(the exporter) confirmed it was a male, and base on the aggression, size, and hump, and behavior it does look like a male.sick_lid;3484956; said:My male Escondido has black on his dorsal..

Changing color as in darkening up? If you have a confirmed pair they could just be displaying a breeding dress. My male always has very faint barring from the spots back, and during aggression they darken up a lot. Could be either of the 2.
