I don't know what mine turned out to be at that point, I traded it and many others from the spawn away, before they fully matured.
The dark color developing in the dorsal of yours, suggest they are females, but only time and maturity will be the test.

My buddy was overstocked and gave this to me about 3 months ago. Not sure what sex it is, and trying to get my 5 posts in as well.

Looks like a female to me, dark dorsal, dark markings.

I kind of thought so, but I'm fairly new to cichlids. I've only been keeping them for about 6 or 7 months now. I had it in a tank by itself and it showed no color, but since adding it to a community tank it has turned black all over.
