Looks female to me!

Not to go too far OT but lately I've noticed a few jags with the goldish spots on the lower body. 2 are this way locally and they're females. Coinsidence or no?

dont know what you mean...what goldish spots?

how about this jag...male or female?

Female looks like the same fish.

By spots i meant the ones near her chin. They don't appear to be black.

i hadnt noticed they wer gold.

no the second fish is a different one, about 9 inches, for sale by someone i live near (in England), but they didnt specify if it was male or female.

this may seem like a stupid question but what would happen to the 5 inch jag if i put a 9 inch jag in there (both female). Can females coincide or is the 5 incher a gonner?

two females can possibly get along okay.. 2 males not very often.. seldom.. only way is to try it.. if they have adequate room it makes a difference too.. but most cases it is just up to the individual temperment.. you can also get away with alot if they are raised together from start..

don't the males loose the big side spots once they reach 5-6in and get the "jaguar" pattern all over?

i honestly dont know. I phoned the guy selling the jag and he says its female. No idea about my one (the first set of photos), most saying female though, and I thought it was female too
