Hi I am just wondering if anyone has had any luck with sexing angelfish without witnessing a spawn. I would like to try to sex mine. I have three and one is slightly bigger than a dollar coin, one is the size of a golf ball and the other is the size of a tennis ball. These are the sizes of their bodies Not including their fins. I know that the largest one is a female because I witnessed her laying eggs. I am aiming for all females or one male and the rest females. I rehomed two that were definitely males. I know this because the one male mated with my female and he would only be aggressive to the other male. Since I removed the two males the remaining angels are very peaceful with each other and this makes me think I have all females. Thanks in advance.

It's almost impossibile to sex young angelfish with any accuracy. Old males will devlope a nauchal hump of sorts and you can clearly see they are old bulls but younger fish wil not have this. Domesticly breed strains are even more diffacult for me. I can tell fairly well male from females in my tanks but I have kept them for years and know the trates and actions of males and females and even then I'm wrong sometimes. Like I said Old bulls can stick out like a sore thumb. Wild fish are eaiser for me since you know what they are supposed to look like where domestic strains have a mix of charicteristics.

If I had to take a shot the center pic looks like a male but that's at best a guess.
