Sorry to all if this question was repeated.

How do you differentiate a male and female dat?:D

Thanks to all!:y220d:

you cant tell

some think they can tell the difference but they are not always right you have a 50-50 chance of getting it right

I just noticed something the other day...i have 15 ITs and the size ranges from 4-10inches so i have fish in similar size to compare. Ive noticed the spur under the bottom back fin being smaller or bigger with some of the dats that are the same size. Could this be a way to tell??

Yes, this is interesting. I have a large gold ST that seems to be spending a lot of time with a large dark coppery ST. They even settle to the bottom together at night when the lights go out. Sometimes, they orient themselves perpendicular to one another while hovering in the water and spend 30-45 minutes just looking at one another. Maybe love is in the air.

15 too lil bit to tell, gotta ask datnoid101 he got 40+ it's

There is no way externally to sex a dat. The only way you could tell is if the female has produced unfertile eggs or if her breeding tubes drop. Camshaft's dat has dropped her breeding tubes so she is a female. I havent heard of anyone else sexing there dat.
