Where eva theres Cichla!!!
hey,

I was just wondering what the easiest and best way is to tell the difference between male and female jags...

well the way i tell is usually the body shape males a little more slender, females a little stockier......and the anal fin in the male should be pointerier...

I would have to disagree, the best way to tell the difference would be the color pattern. Females generally keep the striped pattern whereas an adult male will lost the strips and they will break up into spots. Otherwise when young it is hard to tell.

Not sure on this, but look at the anal fin (most) males are pointed, females are rounded.

Set up two small televisions on each side of the tank one with college basketball one with lifetime the fish will go to the appropriate T.V. But serriously any of the above advice is good ;)

tv sounds good....i would go with the anal fins..the color of the fish can all depend even the spangles and....the pattern can vary from location....so that is really that accurate..

Im going to say color/pattern too. I've never seen a female jag with a bulkier body than my male Jag. ...

ah awesome guys, so really it's like the same way u tell with an oscar... so my jag is... ? i'm thinking male..
The reason i ask is cause i wanna get a female for him, and give it a go breeding them..however is this wise with my jardini ? or will they be fine?
