welcome, males tend to have more intricate patterns and spots as they grow older. how long is it?
I'm not 100% sure about sex, so will hold off on my opinion. That said, I would get a good pellet vs. just live fish - and I would hold off on the plattys - unless you are the one raising them. I also like your tank/aquascape, but can tell you that it is going to get really snug - really fast, so I'd start working on a bigger tank. Nice looking Jag though!

Stop live food cold turkey - he can go weeks without food - jaguars are not hard to get on pellets - you will be successful, he won’t starve, and he will be healthier for doing itHe's arround 7" now..
