Ok I have read that you can vent them to find out the sex but I know males develop the hump. I have one about 14 inches and it is in a tank with a 14 inch pacu and a 7-8 inch flowerhorn. I have also heard that they will only develop a hump if they are with other pbass. Is this true? or will it (if its a male) develop a hump even with other types of fish around? I would think it would develop even with other species but I would like a second opinion.
Thanks
-Alex

P.S. The fish im talking about is the one in my avatar!

I would say its not necessarily true but my 8 inch mono had a hump but it was with other pbass. But imo i would say no. I could be totally wrong though.

It looks too small to have a hump yet- that's assuming it's a male.

^^^Looks like you have a male and female. The male on the rt has a slight hump.
