They keep cleaning off a piece of driftwood and defending it. The gold keeps making a shaking movement over the piece of wood while the
Red chases the other fish off. And then they go back and sit next to each other

If they are not being aggressive with each other, that could potentially be breeding behavior. Have they locked lips at all? That seems to be a big sign of breeding behavior in most all cichlids.

I got 3 & one seems to be a male by the face, the other 2 female. Today is day 4 & I woke up to one of the females dead. Via that normal & why? She was beat up.

What size tank? If it is too small or doesn't have enough places to hide, you cold have a potential breeding pair that removed an invader.

There is 1 of the 2 that are left really chasing the other around. I have them in with some young pbass. Does this sound like a problem, or can this be expected the first few days? I think they have plenty of space & if you look at the picture above, I think there is plenty of structure creating different areas in the tank for them. Should I be concerned & what should I do to better the situation?

Idk my tank is basically wide open. I have the 2 Severums, 2 Kelberi Pbass, my Marblexmotoro ray, and a NTT dat. No issues til the other day and the red has gotten really aggressive towards the bass and dat and defending an area.

I have another 55 gallon with 3 xingu +1 tem in it that I might move the aggressive one into if this continues through the night. The bass in the 75 arae 2-3 inches. The xingu & ten are 4-5 inches, so they may handle the sev better... What do you think about that idea? That would leave 1 sev in each tank.
