The green terror is definatly a female, can tell by the drab color and lach of spangling or trailers on fins, texas I'd say is a female also because of the rouned dorsal and anal fins.

at an inch and a half, none of that means much of anything.

Evan at 1 1/2" that green terror is a female, if it is a male, I'm sorry but thats not a nice lookink male, And here's a pic of one of my texas fry, just over 1 IN. with pointed dorsal.

The GT is too small for accurate sexing . At under 2" drab color is the norm rather than an indicator of sex. The Texas on the otherhand appears to be male . Pressence of a dorsal blotch typically indicates female. Again though at this size it's still possible it's a female that isn't showing the spot yet, but most likely male.

def inaccurate to say that gt is def f. my male looked like that and he is a male... its just to early to tell

So were thinking the texas is a male? and green terror we dont know ye. Could a texas and a green terror breed?

No, but they can certainly try. The general rule is that CAs and SA crosses are not possible under normal circumstance. Genetic differences typically prevent offspring from being viable. With that said however I had a GT male and Salvini female spawn and produce some short lived fry. That's very rare though.

The big problem will be if they do pair up and start trying. Life could get tough for their tankmates.

what cichlids can a texas or green terror breed with?
