can someone plz tell me the correct way to sex jags cause every lfs i go to they tell me the females have shorter bodies what the *@#% does that mean if u feed them good they all should appear to have short bodies due to their stomachs hanging down so can u experts plz help

Males tend to have longer fins and females more curved.

Look female to me. Normally males lose the stripes and females will keep the stripes. But there have been cases where this isn't true.

1st looks female, that hanging stomach, is ethier from feeding feeders fish, which is bad, or because she's prego which is good.

2nd looks maleish, but you really can't have an exact postive i'd until thereat least 7-8"

mate the first one is a female, the other is harder to tell, do you have any more pictures of the second one?

the way i have seen things is females tend to be more beigeish in overall color. they don't have the number of dots and markings on their bodies as males. they also have a thicker lateral (that big horizontal center line) line. males tend to look more streamlined/stealthy, and the females a bit chunkier. one easy way is also to just vent them. males have thin breeding tubes, and females are well, thicker/roundish looking.
based on those two pictures i am going to hesitate a guess and say they are both females.
