I am going to be helping my cousin set up a tank at his house in San Francisco and I'm not sure of any stores down there. He lives in Cole Valley but we can definitely get around the city to visit some good shops. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!

Check out 6th Ave Aquarium on 6th and Clement. It's a flower shop in the front and a fish shop in the back. Be careful though and quarantine what you buy there because they don't quarantine their fish. Also check out Ocean Treasures by South Van Ness...

Thanks for the info...

I know there has to be quite a few more down there?
Anyone else got any other info?

There is one on Ocean avenue that has a good selection. I forgot the name.

You should check out Aquatic Central and BOTH Hung Mings....

Be cautions about buying live goods from 6th Ave, the cheapest prices, but not always the best. I've had several fish die from them. Personally I spend alittle more and get better stock.

Aquatic Central is good, prices are getting high.
Hung Ming good too, also a bit high.

If your open to a drive the Vallejo Aquarium has good stock and prices, not as many odd balls but it's a quality store.

Also Aquarium Concepts has great quality fish, no oddballs and deals with Salt more but good stock, and market value fish.

Kings Aquarium in San Jose may be one of the best Bay Area's stores Fresh wise, good prices, stock and odd ball selections
