Shadow Bass

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That is one awesome looking fish...looks like a mix between a crappie and a livingstonii!

That fish has blue eyes since it's dead and pickled. The site that photo came from uses pickled fish for photos.

This fish came from a ditch not far from my home. This is a rock bass.

Rock bass and shadow bass along with the roanoke and ozark bass are members of the same genus,Ambloplites, but they are seperate species. Rock bass have a disrtibution that extends to Canada in the north but shadow bass begin to replace them as you move south in Missouri and Arkansas. Rock bass can reach twice the size of rock bass.

allmost has a managuense type look allmost...:D

:screwy: :D

I have never been fortunate enough to catch one and have never seen them for sale. They are found scattered throughout the south central USA and the biggest I found on record was 12" but that was a monster, 8" is more normal. these pics are from Nanfa
