don't know about you guys, but...as for shakespeare, their spinning reels does okay. If you know where to look for it, their spinning reels are superb!

A for rods, they are okay...but ugly sticks all way. To me, they are a lot more sensitive than other rods, they are build for handling more than what most rods aren't capable of. To me, the strength of the rod matters more than sensitivity :)

Ugly Custom, Ugly Lite Pro, Ugly Lite, Ugly Lite Pro Graphite, Ugly Lite Graphite, Ugly Classic, Ugly Tiger, Ugly Big Water, and the rarest ugly stick to find now a days...UGLY BLACK TIGER! :D

They'll never break on you going after your dream fish, I remember catching a 65" white sturgeon with a 7ft ugly stick classic 6-15lbs line test...It has the back bone to handle it perfectly(if the place your fishing doesn't hold too much structure)

But back to the topic with the shakespeare reels, if you want reels from shakespeare. Get spinnings, not baitcast. If I was to choose baitcast, low profile = Revo Toro
Round Bait Cast = Shimano Calcutta/Ambassedeur C4 6500(make sure it has carbon drag or else don't get smoke!!! LOL) :D

I agree their rods are great. I use one of their small 5 foot rods as like small rods and though have caught even large peacock bass on it. It holds great .
Their ugly stick which have also is a power house of a rod for the money.

Their reels I loathe due to jamming up or just breaking . While other reels hold up fine.
