Shaking the Addiction

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Really appriciate the help guys. I usually give up or give in to fish demands. I really like the colors on these pikes and I sure don't have a plan to give them up. This is great im going to take these suggestions and jump on it tommorow. Thanx again.

I got them to take 2 of the pikes to accept Mysis, Krill, and my homeade cubes. Im really happy because I was really pushing for the homemade stuff since it has such a variety of ingredients. Right now im very happy. The cobra is taking frozen bloodworms and Mysis. He is a little more stubborn but he'll come around I hope.

Great!! Glad to hear that they are finally showing some signs of accepting a wider variaty of foods! That is a serious plus for you, plus its easier to feed them, not to mention cheaper! LoL!

My cobra is still not eating anything but mysis and blood worms so I have decided to move him to the big tank. My pikes in the big tank are eating anything that drops in. Pellets, homeade, worms, krill etc... So Im hoping that the cobra being around the others will monkey see monkey do. I am stuffing 5 pikes in a 270 but they are all small(under 5") so they should be alright. I will be splitting my fish up soon. I am getting a 220 so hopefully everything can grow out together peacefully.

It should work out, since they are all still pretty small, and will be goin into a larger tank. What pikes do you have in there though? Definately keep an eye on the aggression as they continue to grow! Get us some tank shots as well!! It seems that pikes do learn faster to try new foods if they see other fish eating it first...lol.

Have you moved the cobra yet? How did it work out for you?

Moved the cobra and its not looking to good. My motaguese is being a pest and those two red pikes are awfully aggressive. (the red ones look like the pikes we have been trying to id in yoimbob's thread. I guess we settled on 'atabajo'. I got the from SA at the MFK meet) I also have a Xingu that is not aggressive at all. I have an 8" pike and I am not sure what the name for him is common or otherwise, its the common pike that is easily found at your lfs label only pike. I saw it in one book I have as a rocky pike. I want to post pics but my digi is on the fritz. Im gonna play with it and see if I can get it to work.

The second piketure is the one im not sure on the name. The cobra was shy before she was getting owned so now its even extra harder to snap a shot of her.
