I'm going to dump about 30 1" HRP fry in there with him and see what happens.

What I need is a big eater that's about his size that he won't kill. Maybe a female?

Did you do anything recently to his tank that could have triggered another hunger strike? He really started to look good after he began eating the NLS. I hope that this is temporary. And I agree, maybe a female will bring him out of his shell...maybe.

I got rid of the H. carpinits he was divided with and added tiger barbs, so he's the only cichlid in the tank now, but he ate for two weeks after removing the carpintis. I also switched from the Thera A to the large fish formula of NLS.
