I'd post mine here but I'm at work. I how ever have pics of mine in my profile album, check him out! Pretty jewels here though!

Wow that is an awesome pair Tennfan56, do they have any tankmakes? What size tank are they in? What are you feeding them? What is your water temperature? I am asking, because I do have a Red Jewel, and just wanted to see if I was doing something wrong...

Bloodrock, Where did you get your sp Moanda?

I got them from my local cichlid association auction. I think it was about $5 for 3 of them at about an inch and a half. Nobody really bid on them. One of them got killed as odd man out, but I have a good pair now. They have about 75 fry growing out now. Pretty tough little buggers. I had to move all the other fish except for a pleco and two cory's out of a 30 gallon when they spawned cuz they were kicking the snot out of them.
Your jewel are the reddest that I have ever seen. Absolutely beautiful.

Excellent jewel heavy arm. You should get him a little lady and breed him. :)

Thank you! He's kinda a grouch though, I dunno how he'd handle it haha

They are in a 75 with one siamese algae eater and two cories. I feed a wide variety of foods from live guppies, pellet, flake, and frozen brine shrimp (kinda have a rotation going). They are at about 80 degree water temp.

Heavyarm, my male was always a mean S.O.B. too. He beat up several females until I got him to pair up with this one.

Ha! That's interesting though.. Did you just get lucky the 8th try or..? I'd be interested in breeding him too, so any helpful suggestions from someone that's done it would be great!

Yea all the other females he would beat up immediately so I pretty much gave up for a while. When I was walking through the lfs one day this female caught my eye so I decided to try again and he started showing off the second I put her in there. I guess it could have been a maturity thing.

Here are mine. Not sure their exact name, but I bought them as Hemichromis bimaculatus at the local fish auction.
The male is a complete chicken, he is only aggressive towards other jewels (excluding his wife). He actually ran from a mountain cloud minnow...
The female actually rules the tank with an iron fin, and she is timid in comparison to her siblings. After a dozen attempts, they just figured out that eating the eggs, wrigglers, and fry is counter productive...
