Haha how is he/she treating the gar? I cant have anything in the topwater column with my rtgg.
I've gone thru a slew of tank mates with the rtgg to find one he doesnt bother...other than the datnoid semi working out ,he leaves the gar alone... when I put the gar in he ran up to it puffing his throat out and came to a dead stop just shy of it... maybe he sees those teeth? I dunno but it's working! I hope I didnt just jinx it lol

I find the gar is alot like the bichir... I think there is certain characteristics that fish look out for and are cautious of... never had a fish bother my bichir and gar seems to get treated the same way in that tank

Ive tried cichlas, datnioids and an angry paratilapia polleni and none of them worked with my rtgg. My group of thinbar myleus works and the rtgg is acctually afraid of them. And two ornate polys roams the bottom without any problems. The rtgg has killed a couple of plecos and bristlenoses to.
