my old arowana (died when being transported to new house) :( was always a bit of a problem child for me. he was always sick. he would starve for months on end worrying me sick. he was also very skittish at the slightest of sound or movement. one day he jumped straight into the overhead filter and i was scared to death! he was head first jumping about. almost gave me a heart attack. it was ironic that he died when he wasn't under my care. he was 3 years old but never grew much due to his sickness. only under 2 feet. my biggest mistakes were tankmates (RTC, GAR, tiger shovelnose, clown knives - probably scared the **** outta him :o). the weird thing is that all his tankmates would thrive, outgrow him and be transfered to the pond. i guess luck was never on his side...

I've heard of an arow jumping into another tank with a internal filter being cleaned whilst the impeller was on. Got chruned up real good.

when I was new to aro's when I came home one time my green aro was not there in the tank anymore it jump out so bought a new aro again a yellow and a green...oh well the yellow did it again didn't learn the first time but the at least right now I still have my other green aro for 3yrs now.

well... my worst experience wuz tat he jumped out of my tank... landed on the floor and died instantaneously... i wuz sad and happy at the same time sad cuz i lost an aro happy cuz his death wuz quick and hopefully painless... theory behind tis instantaneous death wuz tat from a couple of frens whom i've consulted the impact sorta severed the back bone or main "spinal column" as i would put it in best of words... i hope i'm not wrong... which resulted in an instant death juz like how we humans would suffer the same if we broke our neck spinal bones in the event of a hard impact...

Fortunately I really have nothing to post in this thread, other then one time, while adjusting my heater, my aro decided to go on a outer tank adventure. He was quickly returned to the tank though, with no real damage.

LoL... we all haf our experiences... but i'm glad uR's didn't result in a loss... =P
