Sharing my simple filtration to the gar tank

My water is clear ( at least to my sore and tired eyes )

Problem is that my critters are big and eat a lot.

See, I always thought the water in my 400g was clear. Then I added 100, then 50 micron socks. The water "before" all of the sudden seemed filthy

25mm diameter? i'm not too sure but in theory, i dont see why not. im not too clear on the bulkhead. what are you refering to?

Part A in the first picture, does this pass through the bottom of the tank? if so how did you seal it please?

That should be the bulkhead at the bottom of the overflow box. The bulkhead creates its own seal. The filter sock holder would simply press-fit into the fitting at the bottom, no need to seal it. When it's dirty, just pull the whole thing out for cleaning.

I need to get a decent fitting. Not using the overflow currently just a bare hole in the bottom of the tank, glad my overflow is watertight!

what jose said. just that i dont pull the whole thing out. i just switch the filter off and pull the sock out.

Also do you not think backflushing is sufficient? Was hoping not to have to open the eheim at all!

with the micron sock in the overflow, how loud is the overall sound of it? alot of splshing or gurgling? thanks

before i used this, the insides of the eheim would collect tonnes of gunk. will give feedback of the new method after i open the eheim later this month

there's no noise at all geo

The Micron socks really spare the filter. They retain a LOT of particles ( of gunk, as they say in Singapore )
