sweet you got my vote. It's about time some P's won this thing. If you a piranha doesn't win next month, maybe we should still the fish that does and put it in one of our tanks!

???

this post is a good example of why students should get more sleep. From reading this post, you'd almost think english was my primary language...almost.

What I mean to say was if your pic of that yellow piraya doesn't win, then we should STEAL the fish that does, and feed to the piranhas.... :headbang2

Oh yes I fully understand what you meant..but what if the winner is one big ass Arapiama Gigas? I dont' want my rhom got eaten :D

anyway, I never had enough sleep when I was a student...what we really need is more monster tanks and more monster fish....or just more cash :bling:

good luck. :)

personally I think pygo look much better and more interesting in a shoal, get like 3-5 if you can.

Trust me...solo piraya are the ****. Plus they are so cannabilistic compared to other pygos that buying a small shoal isnt really worth it if i was going to shoal piraya id buy like ten so id have like 6 or 7 in the end.

Solo Piraya look way better too no nips look at the first pic you posted.

The piraya in the first pic actually share the tank with 2 other terns I believe, same size. Personally I just like a shoal better, they are more interactive compare to just one, but thats just me. the cannibalistic thingy is just part of the risk we are taking as piranha keepers :)
personally I never had that experience with all the rbps I've kept over the years. maybe I'm just lucky. (yes and I know piraya is much worst than rbps when it comes to cannibalism) I think it's all depends on how well you feed them and how much space you provide for each individual fish.

yeah that would make sense. If pirayas are more aggressive and grow larger than most pygos, then I would imagine being kept in aquariums sized for more garden variety pygos has contributed to their reputation for increased cannablism.
