A standard 180 gallon may work for the pups of most common available benthic shark species - such as Bamboos, epaulettes, coral catsharks and horn sharks. But usually after a year or so - you will need a larger tank.
You can easy put a bamboo shark in there and a horn shark don't listen to the other people they'll be fine. The bamboo will get like 14 inches and the horn shark won't get 3 feet that's BS.
Brendanm15 that is some hanous information....bamboos will get every bit of 3' if not the full 40". Also both species u mention are not compatible due to tempature. I house 2 20" coral cats in a 197 (just like a 180 but 7ft. Long) and i can clearly see they need more room. They are growing and have an exellent setup but id like to give them a better home. Its only right. I recomend coral cats to start with. They are much more managable than bamboos in the long run. I planned on moving them to a 300 but id rather put them in my 450 (8'x3') just to give them all they deserve.
