Is there any shark that can be kept in a 250?I am quite interested in sharks, but I know my tank isn't big enough to hold a requiem shark. This also is not something I would want to jump into without giving it some thought and research.Any help would be appreciated!

Gallons isn't as important as footprint. With a standard 6' x24' tank you could get by with a Coral Cat shark as it is the smallest available shark growing to just around 2' and is your best bet. Very few rocks in this footprint as well if any.

But it would be better in a 6'x3' tank for sure.

i wouldnt keep any shark in a tank 2' wide. maybe as a pupping setup, but really, bare min 3' wide for the coral cat.

A 6' x 24' tank or pond (That's roughly 144 sq.ft) would be large enough for a breeding pond for Bamboos, Eppies, Coral catsharks or even California Horn Sharks.

For a Coral or Marbled Catshark - the absolute minimum footprint should be at least a 6' x 2.5' (15 sq.ft.) - although naturally a 6' x 3' (18 sq.ft. would) even better.

the tank is 6' long and 3' wide.Looks like the width is the bare minimum. What should I feed a coral catshark?

Needs to be ideally 6' x 3'

The tank dimensions are a little diffrent from your average 250,I mean the width.i think it was hand built though,so that may be why.I know sharks are sensitive to water quality, and need a good filter system.I was planning on actually putting some sort of pond filter instead of a tank filter. Not sure what brand/type though.

Well with good dimensions.

for a Shark tank - You really need your filtration system to be able to complete denitrify - all nitrogen-based waste.

A good set up - should include a good Protein Skimmer, with a quality Sand Filter, Refugium, or LR Sump. Ideally your Biological filtration should include - macro-algea (Cheato), Live Sand & Live Rock - as bare minimums.
