Shark in a 250?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Coral cats eat shrimp, scallops, smelt, and squid.

IME: Mandatory equipment/filtration would be a skimmer rated for a 500 gallon tank, a sump capable of holding 250+ pounds of SUBMERGED live rock, and a main circulation pump that will create a turn over rate of 1250+GPH.

Thank you!!!Should have though about that type of filteration system. would I be able to house any other fish with the shark in a 250?Or is a one shark enough?

What fish would be good with them?No lionfish, angels, puffers, and triggers. Of course would any of these work?(not all in the same tank)
Spotted sweetlips
Big eye squirrelfish
Columbian sharks
Siamese tigerfish
Spotted grouper
Red Snapper
Yellowback goatfish
Coral Hogfish
And what would be the best stocking option out of those fish?

Jeez,so many people have not posted but 3 are viewing!LOL.Anyway,I got the lifeguard fluidized bed filter rated for 900 gallons ordered.I have decided to say yes to the shark idea. Also,no way to be picky or anything, but is there a skimmer that is efficent and not as expensive?Or not?Just wondering.

I have seen some great DIY skimmers out there but you have to remember that if you are going to keep a shark you are going to need a large and efficient protein skimmer. The skimmer will be your most important piece of equipment and you really cant do without a good one.

Keep you eye open on CL or this forum and others, there are many great deals going around and there is no shame in getting a used one if its for a good deal.

Yeah. Thanks!Would those fish I listed be compatible with one?

lol sorrry just saying this but but with a shark in there you should get some sort of ray. i said sorry because i have never kept a saltwater tank, but im just saying what would look awesome
