Shark like fish for 120 gallon freshwater tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Id say bala sharks, im not sure how big they get though, I think they can max out aroumd 20". Someone correct me if im wrong.

Ok so the original stock list was
6- bala sharks
6- rainbow sharks
3- Colombian sharks
2- plecostomus
1- iridescent shark
And you said no to iridescent,Colombian, and bala that leaves only the rainbow sharks and plecostomus. If you are going to have a tank this size with just rainbow sharks and plecos then I recommend picking up a ton of Cory catfish (like 15) if you have a large school they are really cool and they are awesome to watch but I would hate to have just rainbow sharks and places if I had an open tank opportunity this size I would throw in some cichlids and alot of aggressive small fish. Actually what I'm experimenting with right now is buenos aires tetras which look and feed like red belly pirhanas and they are really awesome fish and in a 120 you could get like 20 and they will school and they just look so cool if I were you I would pick up like 20 of them and at petsmart right now they are only $1 usually like $4-$5 so u decide but that's just my choice and the buenos aires only get like 3 inches I think maybe smaller

Just get a few cetopsis catfish and lots of current. Can't lose.

Bottlenose catfish. They can live in the 120g for life and they look like sharks. They look like ID sharks, but stay much smaller.

6 balas in a 120? Balas get huge over time 12-14+ inch 120 is way to small for them imho.

6 rainbow sharks is not a good idea as they tend to fight amongst one another.

ID shark will out grow a 120.

2 common plecos will also be a very tight fit in a 120

the colombian sharks people have gone over.

The only sharks you could really go with are a single red tail or a black shark but even a black shark in a 120 is pushing it, if you do get a black shark I highly recommend keeping it alone once it gets some size.

You could get away with 2 balas and 1 RTS but the balas will be very skittish as they prefer to have a schooling group.
