shark or ray for 360?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
maybe i should just do the sharks then? cuz i think that the rays would get stressed out, kinda like FW rays would with nocturnal catfish. so like 4 with live rock and etc.? i suppose that some actinic lighting at night would really make that tank look nice.

Actually the Banded cat shark is the LFS name for the Brown-banded Bamboo (Chiloscyllium punctatum) which can grow to more than 40" long.

The Coral Catshark (Atelomycterus marmoratus) is a true catshark. they are much smaller, and more active than the Bamboos. But - as Matt already stated - usually most active at night.

A good combination - maybe 2 Coral Catsharks and 1 Cortez Stingray. That would be a nice elasmobranch tank.

maybe a bamboo or epallete but they may need larger homes as the can both reach 30" plus but are less active an better suited to captivity. the surface area of the tank will be very important when dealing with sharks and rays

my setup is going to be (so far at least)

1 cortez ray
2 yellow ray (we really onlt judge rays by their diameter? at least thats how it goes for FW)
1 coral catshark
