Shark Tailed Polypterus Lapradei Bichir

Has anyone ever seen a sharks-tailed Polypterus.
This is mine Lapradei. He’s about 10”.
The tail is natural, it’s not cut or modified. See the patterns on the tail and you will realize. No Polypterus I have seen has this curled up split short tail.
Anyone seen this before? Just wanted to get some observations, I love this fella ??

Yeah I've seen this a couple times. Usually from severe tail damage and it never heals back.

If you look at the pic closely
It’s not a grow back tail from severe damage
The patterns look natural
And the way the tail curls upwards is not one that is indicative of a recovery from tail damage. The normal Polypterus doesn’t have such angled tail.
Just my opinion

The fish could well have recovered from whatever injury cause the split fin, especially if it occurred at a young age. They are really tough at times. Otherwise it could be a birth defect, one of my friends has a guppy with a 3-fork tail for the same reason. I can't think of any other reason a bichirs tail would be forked like that.
