Shark Tank Update

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Being a black shark keeper myself, yours is definatly an inspiration to take extremely great care of my own....absolutly beautiful fish :)

Awesome fish, love the spot loach!

That Black Shrk just blows my mind. The biggest I have ever seen, even on the net is a tatty, 14 year old, 15" specimen. She just dwarfs the 180.

Here are some in the bag pictures of my 'mystery barbs'. They have gotten deeper bodied since I have gotten them. You can't see the spotted lines going down their bodies in these pictures, wish I could get in the tank shots, but its practically impossible. Any idears on what they be?

From those pics it looks most like a labiobarbus of some kind, maybe siamensis or lineatus, depends on how it colours up once settled and grown a bit.

Can you give me any info on either of those two? Max size namely. I figured they didn't look like 'small' barbs, which is why I got them. Hopefully they will get at least a foot! :D Already putting on some size, and their pelvic fins have this very faint white edge to them...cool looking.

Don't really know much about them to be honest. The Labiobarbus family typically max out between 8 and 9 inches, not massive, but a decent size. Typically vegetarian, although they would more than like become omniverous in captivity I expect and not an aggressive group of fish as far as I know.
