Shark that's look real??

Lots of info here to take in. When i started my 55gal with the intent to upgrade I also wanted sharks but could never find on that looked similar to a shark. I gave up and now I have Afircan Cichlids haha.
What gets me is the people that claim "It isn't a "Real" shark unless it looks like a Shark".
Which is completely false - small benthic species such as Epaulettes, Bamboos & catsharks are just as much of a real shark - as the Blacktip Reef, Lemon & Bull Sharks are. And they are alot easier for private aquarist to keep.

I agree its possible for a private aquarist to keep Blacktip Reefs & Lemons. But it's just that any of the requiem sharks are best left to that very small percentage of private aquarists that can afford large swimming pool size shark lagoons.

true above ground pools are quite cheap and getting that recomended 25' diameter isn't hard. the hard part is the salt, sand, live rock, and skimmer for 15000+ gallons. lol
that's of course for the blacktip reef shark, the others that get larger would require more, even still it's not the size of the pool, its the cost of everything else.

based on something zoodiver described in an older thread this would get you to a 8' shark (over 2x the adult length on the short side and 5-6 times the adult length on the long side)
now let's see you afford the filter, live rock, sand, and salt for it. lol
A 45' long x 18' wide x 4.33' deep - above ground swimming pool - would still require a good heavy duty fish safe pond liner. But it would also depend on the type of shark or sharks your planning to put in it.
For the ORV requiem sharks - the largest species that I would be suggest is the Blacktip Reef (max 6') - So the pond would have a length that is 7.5 x the shark's max length, and width of 3 x the shark's max length.
For the non-ORV swimming sharks - the largest species I would suggest would be the Whitetip Reef (Max about 7'). Which would make the pond - have a length that is more than 6 x the Whitetip Reef's max, and the width would about 2.5 x the Whitetip Reef's max.
As for Benthic species that could be kept in such a pool turned shark lagoon - you could go with an adult Nurse Shark, or a Spotted Wobbie .
