i didnt know where to put this, so mods feel free to move.

i just got certified for scuba diving a few months ago and so far have dived in some lakes and rivers and on some rock reefs in florida. this summer me and some buddies are taking a road trip some where and we wanna dive with some sharks. i know there are lots of diving boats that have shark diving expeditions but i was just wondering if anyone knew of a shark diving destination that is, preferbly, in florida or the southern east coast or on the gulf. are there any aquariums in the US that allow you to dive with their sharks? has anyone ever done this before? its something i have wanted to do since i was a kid, but im having trouble finding the information i need. thanks in advance!
 
The aquarium i work at has a shark dive you can go on. You can check it out at www.minnesotaaquarium.com If you are looking for diving with sharks in Florida, I know that they used to have shark feeding dives you could do. I am pretty sure they were going to ban that last year though. I am not quite sure exactly what they decided on that so if anyone knows, let me know. The Living Seas in Orlando and Sea World in Orlando both have shark dives. I know the Sea World one is much more regulated. You are in a cage. Both the one at The living seas and Underwater Adventures (where I work) you are actually diving with sharks swimming around you.

Yes, I work there. You do a 20-30 minute dive in the lake exhibit....(we are putting various gar in there in january...some of our alligator gar are around 6 or 7 ft) After the lake exhibit you dive for about 45 minutes in shark cove. It is a guided tour. There are about three of us in with the group and we guard the sharks away using pvc pipe. It is definately a thrilling experience. The sharks are very curious and get pretty close. You need to bring or rent all equipment except the tank. We have a dive shop out here that we can set you up with for renting gear if you need it. If you have any more questions let me know.
 
We'll get you pretty close to 'em. It's well worth it. The big exhibit has browns, sandtigers, black tips, nurse, wobbs, sawfish, guitarfish, sea turtles, rays and a bunch of misc fish like groupers.

There is no cage unless they have changes policy within the last 2 months or so!!!:)
