i was planning on keeping either an epualet or bamboo shark with one jewel moray and a chain moray and was told of noncompatability i think he meant a epualet shark and a bamboo would be noncompatibal but was vwondering wat other people have to say about this becuase i dont know?

It's possible to keep certain species of eels with certain species of sharks. But generally compatitability between sharks and eels is questionable. They trick is to select species of both Eels and Sharks which aren't really overly aggressive.

I've seen larger benthic sharks like a young Nurse shark actually attack and eat a Moray Eel.

I would suggest maybe keeping a Snowflake Eel or Chain Link Eel with a bamboo shark or Epaulette. Also they should be fairly compariable in size.

Zebra Moray's are by far the most docile (although not as active as others). When I had my ~4' one I kept it with little watchman gobies and other small fish with no problems at all. It would even let cleaner shrimp go in it's mouth to clean it. Not sure about sharks though, never kept one.

i have a small snowflake and small barred eel, and will be acquiring a BB bamboo soon so well see what happens there. if anything touches the shark they will go bye-bye.

I have a large snowflake in with a gray smoothhound, bamboo and horn shark. They have been together for years without any problems. I have also kept a zebra moray with many sharks including a nurse shark without any problems. The secret is that the moray must have a place to hide. I have a pile of live rock in the center of the tank where the sharks can't get at him. Also. make sure that the eel is not bite size. I don't think that I would risk it with larger morays like speckled or greens.

would a hawaiian dragon moray be a less agressive replacement for the jewel and i will be getting the two morays same size with shark just same size to a couple inches shorter there will also be two rock piles one for each moray and there will be a strong current towards one of the rock piles so the large humpback cowrie im going to keep has a place to his likeing as well

We will be trying a tessalata eel in with our pair of gray banded's once their bigger tank is complete.

I will post back on results.
