sharks fit in this tank?

Compared to where they come from, no tank is really big enough for any fish,all we can do is our best if we keep them.,

I see that a lot, and I understand the sentiment, but it's not true in all cases (though certainly true in many or most on MONSTER Fish keepers). There are definitely fish whose entire life never takes it very far from home. Their needs can be more than met in large home aquaria.

BUT, in the opinion of many experts, no shark would be suitable for that 400 gallon.

looks like im goona need a bigger tank. i dont have any sharks now, nor will i soon, but someday would hope to achieve the dream.

perhaps an 8x4x?? would be good for the smaller species?

8x4 would be good for smaller sharks such as a coral cat as they only get to be about 28inches or so.
