If you want something w/ a lot of personality, maybe "aggressive" like you'd imagine sharks would be (though many sharks are not as agressive as some) triggers are very fun. Have to be careful w/ what you keep with them, but I had a Picasso Trigger w/ a group of domino damsels. The trigger got to about 12-14" before she died (had her about 5 years) the damsels got about 3.5-4".
My picasso would play fetch w/ me. I'd throw a ping pong ball down the tank and she'd push it w/ her mouth back to me. VERY agressive, fun, and high personality fish.
