sharks in fl

wow, granted i don't know much about keeping sharks but it seems like you'd need a pretty good chiller and dark room to recreate it's habitat since it's found 366-550m down, seems like it'd be a cool species though if you could find a dealer for them

also, doesnt the pressure change affect some fish adversely? on another note, it looks like it shares alot of characteristics with the chain catshark(Scyliorhinus retifer), except the size ofcourse. Maybe it was a version that adapted itself to deeper waters....who knows? There doesn't seem to be any pics of it atall, just some drawings.....I'd think that if a seller DID have some available, that there'd be pics somewhere.

or it might just be the fact that the source is from 1984 and 13" is as large as they got in captivity back then. I image there was a high mortaility rate 26 years ago. lol

a fish coming up from that depth would blow up like a balloon... u would need a flippin decompression chamber for it? when u go fishing and catch a grouper who has come from only a 100 ft down u have to decompress before letting it go.... the reality of owning this shark looks bleak? to say the least... im not an expert but marine biology is my thing... i deff know that a shark from that deep... unless a migratory species... wouldnt be able to be sustained in captivity unless u were monterey bay aquarium and had some device to create the same pressure...
