Here's where you can find Crumbs photos of his sharks - including the Short-tailed Nurse.

Short Tail Nurse Sharks are expensive, as Ken quoted they normally go for around $2,500 - $3,000. If you are serious about purchasing one please send me a PM as I am able to get my hands on this specimen.

good luck :)

so thought i'd wake up a thread thats been around for 4 years. the chain catshark (dogfish) has been thrown around alot and seems to be (if you can afford a good cooler) one of the best sharks to keep in home aquaria of a decent size. Yet no one has given any information about availability and price of these? (that last sentence is pretty much my question).

interesting that the chain catshark costs 10 times what the black banded does. pricing means a disservice to the fish as people will see catshark on both and assume that their 180g will work for the black banded. (okay it will for a little while but not for life)

I understand supply and demand but a little regulation could help curb this the most effective way, price.

1st off - a Chain Catshark tends to be much harder to find than Brown-banded Bamboos.

Also I wouldn't suggest that a Chain catshark could be kept in a 180 gallon tank for life. Because truthfully it shouldn't be. A chain catshark grows to about 2 ft long - so to keep one for life would require at least a 360 gallon aquarium.

I agree that Brown-banded Bamboos are way too cheap. Even in LFS even small pups rarely sell for more than $75-80.

To cheap? There's nothing in this hobby that's cheap. :D
