Its normal ash, and yes they do mellow down quite a bit as they mature and as long as you keep at it with the interactions.

Yah he sheds body part here then the next one and by a week or so he sheds completely and so on every few weeks. He just shed his head again the other day lol. Thanks for the advice. I def. play with him though just b/c I want him to be interactive when he is older =] I'll post up some pics maybe tomorrow.
i agree with everything thats being said. they grow like weeds when young. can almost reach full size in 6-8 months! definately will mellow out with age and handling. my friend had a pair that he could set outside on a rock in the sun and they would sit there for hrs. but jason is right, you have to be careful. you dont want them funning off lol.
