Just so all of you know... This Brevis is 2 inches long... The Frontosa is about 4 inches long... The Frontosa is just in this tank as a growout tank... I'm keeping this frontosa for someone else... Until they have finished there cycling there tank... None of the fish in the tank are over 4 inches... The Frontosa and 1 of the Yellow Labs are 4 inches... The other fish are 1 to 2 inches

I did my research and he has now started eating and hes perfectly fine. For all of you to know
good..glad to hear it...but you would still be better off setting up a tank devoted only to shell dwellers...imo

Presenting all the information at the start will help with that.

Also it may seem unlikely but Fronts have big mouths and will at about 5-6 inches go after a 2 inch fish. So keep an eye out.

Frontosa eyes are bigger than there stomachs...

My LFS has a colony of brevis that is about 12 fish total, they are kept in their own tank and have been in the store for about 6 months, they are not shy at all and they feed well. When kept correctly they breed well and IMHO make a great cantidate for a species tank.

Brevis aren't meant to be solitary. Even though they don't naturally form tight knit colonies like say N. multifasciatus, they do appreciate the company of their own given adequate space and shells.

Agreed

even if they just have other fish to spit sand at (which is funny to watch) they enjoy it.
