PS I pulled the rocks because i didn't want to deal with hardness going up due to the rocks because i planned on having shrimps in the tank. :/

Love the carpet. I wish I could grow HC but my fish pull up anything with tiny roots, UG, HC and Dwarf Clover have all failed to stay put.

Tank looks great! Any issues with the HC melting after filling?

Maybe a silly question but are these terrestrial plants that do fine in water or can aquatic plants actually grow out of water?

From what I've read, some aquatic plants can survive fully submerged and also emmersed due to the fact that most of these plants live in an area that has periods of flooding and periods where the plants are out of water. The dry start allows the roots from most plants to grow deeper because they need to reach a source of water. The established roots help when you fill the tank. Some plants have 2 forms for each environment also.
