Ahh, Tranquilizers! I was waiting for someone to touch down on this subject. Alot of exporters who ship P's use tranqs, including our Exporter. It calms the large fish down, and lessons the chance of them 'accidently' biting through the bag. I believe there is a name brand Tranquilizer put out by an aquarium company, but I forget the name of it. Waldo knows what it is called, I will try to have him post about it. Look around, you should be able to find one. Instructions are on the packaging, and it's easy to use.
The other thing that works really well with 'skittish' fish and shipping, is to engulf their package in all black trash bags, as it calms them down.

Agree with Jed and Ming about the shipping method. I always see Ps with plastic containers in the bag straight from the S.America.

Yeah I have the drug on the tip of my tongue. It's a narcotic and hard to come by. It' goes by a different name in drug and health stores. I'll get it for you guys. ps don't do drugs they are bad.

Here was my package with a rhombeus (piranha) shipped to me express. tranquilizers used i believe are MS-222

I thought they were banned because of exactly human use on fish tranquilizers. I believe some college kids that went on fish collecting learned it. Those college kids are really smart!
