I just go to my UPS shipping center and they take it all... Even venomous snakes. You should just give it a try.

They will take them if they know what is in there???
UPS has come out and stated in several places that they will not accept snakes, venomous or not. I would not take this chance, even if one place will take them, they are forbidden in the system...our hobby has enough black-eyes, no need to take a chance on getting a few more by sneaking shipments under the radar.

You don't get what? You put in the information, print the label, and either schedule a pickup or drop it off at a Fed-Ex hub......
where ship your reptiles gets involved, are they linked to fedex and have their own boxes and stuff at fedex hubs or something?

With ship your reptiles, dont you have to buy all the stuff from them, cant I just get my own box and containers and do it myself? How much is it typically for say one baby gecko? Is it more for a live animal or is it just by weight?

You buy a shipping box with 240lb crushing resistance, you line it with styrofoam, you add your reptiles in seperate containers, you add packing peanuts to fill in space and you put your heat pack inside. You mark the box live harmless reptiles, you take it to UPS not USPS.... They will take it, if they dont, tell them you have a very good lawyer that says otherwise and you will be contacting him if they refuse. UPS ships reptiles of all kinds, no reservation as to venomous or non venemous, snakes or turtles. The only thing they dont ship is saltwater turtles. If the people at the counter dont want to take it, its a personal preference of theirs, not company rules.

I believe you are confused with FedEx, they dont ship venemous snakes... Not sure they ship snakes at all... I do all my shipping with UPS.

Just checked their web site, you are correct. Not sure why the lady at the counter told me they took snakes ven. and non, turtles and lizards.

Here is the info directly from UPS, along with packing instructions.

This is from FedEx web site >

"If approved by FedEx, we may accept non-venomous reptiles, amphibians, live/tropical fish and beneficial insects on an exception basis under the following conditions:

Shipments must be from a business to a business (from a breeder to a pet store, for example).
The shipper must have its packaging tested and pre-approved by FedEx Packaging Design and Development for the type of animal being shipped. Call 1.800.633.7019 for assistance. It is the responsibility of the shipper to adequately package shipments for all temperature extremes and handling conditions.

Contact your FedEx account executive for details and additional requirements."

Im not sure how people are shipping venomous snakes, airport to airport maybe?

Typically it is done through Delta or a similar airline, airport to airport from what I understand, no first hand experience with it though.
