hello i have a 4ft tank with 2 discus and a shoal of 9 rummy nose tetras. i am looking to get 2 more discus but also another shoal of fish to go in the tank. firstly i want a fish that will defiently shoal and secondly that will create a speprate shoal from the rummy nose tetras. any ideas?

You need at least 6 discus, they work better in high groups, as for the other shoal neon tertas fit perfectly well, in groups of 10+

how big is your tank? 4ftx?x?

i would not suggest you add more schooling fish to your tank since you need more discus and your tank cant support it

I have actually had some success with white finnned tetras and they look great too. You could do some Cories as well. :D

a minimum of 5 discus. 6 would be better. neons are not a good choice. they don't adapt well to the high temps of a discus tank and will become snacks. I would just add more rummies. 20 would look great and they will school better.

cardinal tetras can handle higher temps
black neon tetras - boring looking in store, but someone just gave me some free to put with my discus and they dont look half bad

dwarf neon rainbowfish ... pretty sweet looking, they stay small, and shoal .... unsure what kind of temps they can handle though
