hey lately i have been considering upgrading my 180 g to a 220 just for that extra hieght would u do it ,
if i do upgrade here are the down sides

i have to take out alot of sand
then i have to remove all my fish
take out all of my water
remove the tank from my room
maybe have to get a bigger pump for my sump
then i have to make another durso standpipe easy and make another return line

so is it worth the extra height
and if i was to upgrade i would put my tank only for trade for a 220 with some cash

so would u make the upgrade and would i need a bigger sump for a 220 or can i keep using mine from the 180

agreed i got two tanks that are deeper than three feet and its no fun the fish cant even use the space as needed go wider/longer before you go taller. as far as sumps what size is it now

i cant go any wider or longer or i wont be able to fit anything in my room right now im at the max lenght/width only way i can upgrade is go taller and my stock consist of alot of young vieja growouts a cuban some midas and a eel and some others

i thought increasing the hieght would be alot better idk

more water is always better but not always worth it i would forget about the upgrade imo taller sucks unless you are having sand sucked up into filters even then theres better options.

yeah no use in going through all this trouble just for a taller harder to clean tank

I agree with every one else it seems like a bit of a waste of time to upgrade a tank just to make it taller... honestly, if you were to add to the foot print i would say yes, but just for height... i wouldn't bother..
