WHAT? :WHOA: hopefully you're joking

How many reports have you heard of a Wolf mauling a two month old? How many reports have you heard of a Wolf going into someone's house through a cat/doggie door and attacking a neighbor? How many reports have you heard of a Wolf attacking and killing a jogger?

Hmmmm.....

Check this site out... which has a bunch of pit bull attacks

This one compares pit bulls to other dogs

In spending the same amount of effort I found these two on Wolf attacks:

Also on a final note I didn't say I felt safe around Wolfs... I just said SAFER then pit bulls

016.JPGThe ignorance of people is actually mind boggling! Do you know that most dogs named "Pit Bulls" in attacks - aren't Pits of any sort?! Are you people really kidding me??
You do realize that Pit Bull isn't even a real breed of dog right? It's just the catch-all name for any Terrier/Mastiff/Bully breeds & mixes.
I bet I could post a list of dogs on here that are commonly called "Pits" and absolutely none of them are. Half of the people have no idea what's even in front of them. If it bites - it MUST be a pit bull. Look at bite statistics - the #1 dog is NOT the pit.
Did you know that the mascot for the US military was the Pit Bull in WWI?? Petey was a Pit. They are NOT aggressive dogs by nature - ******* people make them that way.

if it bites it's a pit? that's exaggerating to say that people say that when attacked.

sure they get a bad rep, but why do pit lovers get so defensive? they have a bad rep for a good reason too. is it their fault, no it's not. but their bad rep wasn't made out of thin air, that's all i'm saying.

i have kids and family that visit often and if i was to get a dog, i have a list of dogs i would not get. pit bulls are top 5 on my list of dogs not to get

Pits are my #1 dog. We get defensive because every uneduacted person who thinks they're the "dog expert" thinks every short haired terrier/bully is a Pit. Every walk into a shelter? 80% of the population are labeled as Pits. 99% are not.
If you wouldn't get a Pit - that's truly your loss. I have people come up to me - say how amazing my dog is, "she's so sweet! What is she?" I tell them a Pit - they turn around & walk away. As if by me SAYING the name Pit Bull - will suddenly cause her to attack. I have worked in the animal field for over 10 years now - the #1 dog we all hate at vets offices & shelters? Chihuahuas. Nasty little things. I've been attacked mutiple times by German Shephers & Labs. Not once by a Pit.

We are getting away from the topic of the thread but most dog attacks in this town are from pit bulls....or mixed breed dogs that resemble pits closely enough.Just a few weeks ago a woman was killed in her home by her FIVE pit bulls....They had previously been taken away from her by authorities due to other incidents and she somehow was able to get them back. Why she needed that many dogs in a row home is beyond me but whatever the dogs problem was I'm almost certain that it had something to do with the way that they were raised.PitBulls are still my favorite breed of dog though.......I hope that the wolf is captured before it or anyone is harmed.

whether it's my loss or not is a matter of opinion. and i'd really rather not chance it. that may not be a fair thing to do but it's more important to me make sure no one's at risk and there's plenty of other kinds of dogs that are just as great as pit bulls.

i get it that you are upset they have such a bad rep, and i understand that. but at the same time, i'm trying to tell you that pitbulls have one of the worse reps for a reason too. it's not just fabricated stories of pitbulls attacking people. sure chows and dalmations and many others attack people too, but pitbull attacks are real and the fact that they are used for fighting just makes it worse

and yea, we are off topic a bit, sorry ts

First, hope they catch it. Second, labs bite more people each year than pits.
