Shop Lights?

So I need to get a light for my 75 gallon and was wondering if a 40 watt 4 foot shop light would work and sustain any plants?

I went to Harbor Freight and bought the clamp on metal shop fixture I suspend it from a chain and put a 5600 deg. kelvin compact flourescent bullb. An industrial look for sure, but @ $15 each I can't beat it. It works for me, as I am a stainless steel guy. As long as the lamps you use have proper kelvin rating, it doesn't matter what you use as long as you are pleased with the aesthetics.
