Nice, it always feels good buying new fish supplies and feels even better setting up a new tank:). Can't wait to see pics.

lol well i hope u plan on filling up the tank in ur garage and letting it sit before moving it in....hate for 500 gallons of water to flood ur house.

well i guess u've already bought the wood, but have u priced out wat a custom welded tube stand would cost?

i would also read up on wood working 101 online or get a book at local hardware store before jumping into the build...it's a tad more difficult then it seems.

u got a miter and/or table saw, or u gonna use a skill saw for all ur cuts?

im smart and always think things through and the skil saw is tough. i might find a carpenter to help out and make sure it all works out

nice build, mine is a bigger footprint 8x4x2 and im using all 4x4 (prob overkill) but thats what i think will make it safer and also going with 10 uprights instead of 8

honestly u will be fine even if u just know basic framing or know how to look it up. just a quick reminder to all but most of our homes (in the US not sure how homes are done in other countries), even 2 stories, are framed with 2x4's for the most part.
