Short Bodied Flowerhorn?

This is my SRD i bought from live aquaria a little over a month ago. He was sold as a magma which ive been told is just a certain strain of SRD. 1 picture hos kok is small thats the first day i got him. Hes growong pretty nice i think

I see what your saying about the pectoral fin. Usually if the fish is damaged or deformed they will say it's blemished. Maybe just the picture

Magma at first was a 4th generation Kamfa mixed with SRD. My boy Primus was one of those from the original creator. Recently they've been popping up looking no different than really pearly SRD's. When mine passed I got a newer one labeled as Magma. He was nice and pearly but he started fading on me. The new one is actually my profile pic, but that was pre-fade and he's really fugly right now...lol. SRD or Magma...yours is looking real good.

Ok thanks alot for all the advice and knowlwdge. I hope mine does not fade out. But i think im going to buy that short body sunburst of it is still available friday and see what happens with it

Ive had freshwater aquariums for years now but im just getting into the flowerhorns and dont have much knowledge when ot comes to all the types. They are very cool fish.

It's a never ending learning experience with them. Just don't breed them or it will be the end of any social life as you know it...hahahaha

Very interesting little fish.

IMHO, these guys should be considered parrots. Looks much more like a parrot than a FH to my eyes.

Minus the pearls and longer tail fins you have a point, the parrot shows strong in this one. That said I suspect it'll be come more FH looking as it grows, esp. if it's a male, will be interesting to see how it turns out. Either way I'm still digging the moustache :)
