hey all gonna probably stir up a debate here having this in my 300 but hey im an impulsive fish buyer... anyone who read my thread the other week would have noticed i mentioned picking up 3 catfish very cheap locally, the guy drove up the motorway 30min to meet me with them he was that eager to shift them i figured i'd keep them for a while and move them on... there was a 13inch rtc (gorgeous but also slightly stumpy) a 20inch tsn (turned out to be closer to 16inch) and an 8inch rtc that looked really stumpy...? they were all 8 months old and fed on frozen king prawns. well i met him handed over 30 quid (about 45 dollars) and took them home... well the two rtc i was told where brothers both having very similar markings on their throat so i believe this, sold the larger rtc and tsn a week later to a guy with a rtcxtsn and realistic plans for a pond.
anyways im convinced this little one has some kinda sb birth defect, he's as cute as hell and notice in the pics theres no gap between his two top fins and tail... i listed it for sale as a possible sb on our uk aquarist classifieds for 150 pounds and had a reply from a guy in the us asking if i'd post it out so he was also convinced by the pics... i've since removed it from sale as its really grown on me hand feeding and wadling around, would love in if 'stump' would stop growing around 12-18 inch like ive heard some do!? we'll see, heres some pics, make your own mind up?
