maybe i guess, although they were suppossedly fed king prawns and in a 6x2x2 i guess water quality coulda been an issue...

I've never personally kept them but the tank sounds like its proper size for the size of the fish, then it most likely is just a SB, nice pickup!!

Haha...thats a cool looking stumpy little guy! Very pretty fish...sure wish I could get one of them!

It's definitely a short bodied cat, not necessarily stunted in any ways.
+1 this should be intresting as i wanna see how big this guy gets compared to a normal rtc!

cheers all, got myself a 5x2x2 for the midas now, i just gotta pick it up and get all the accessorys together, lets see how long he'll do in the big tank with the black devil!!

unless i move the black devil too the 5x2x2 as a grow out?? either way i think the rtc may get big enough to swallow the midas and my cats one day?-(

Looks like a great sb retail cat a friend in florida has 4 normal 2 sb and a platinum in a 4400gal pond he has had his for over 5 yrs for some and says the sb grow slower but are still getting big but have taken longer but he adores his so enjoy buddy in my opinion you got a great fish
