Short body oscar

That looks cruel and horrible makin a fish live like that. Poor thing
Looks like they've taken out the body and put the head straight on to the tail. I don't know where to get them, I'd strongly suggest against supporting this 'short body' fish trade, it seems cruel to me. Just get a regular Oscar I think. If tank space is the reason you want a smaller type of Oscar, then get something that is naturally a bit smaller, a JD, GT, or even a Firemouth or Convict.
Oh I already have 2 regular oscars in a 300g and 2 LF oscars in a 125g (soon to be put in the 300). Usually I'm not a fan of SB fish because they are turned in to SB due to poor living conditions. If the fish is genetically selectively bred to be this way, it's not nearly as bad. Of course any "genetically modified" animal will have it's health problems, but if brought in to the world humanely and cared for well, these can be avoided.
Yeah that's a lot better if its not just stunted. If you can find em, then I say go for it. Better than it ending up in some 13 year olds 10g tank.
I'm not sure how much of this is based on scientific fact, but it does seem to support the claim that SB fish can be bred humanely and live a healthy life (if cared for correctly, just like any other fish). A SB oscar is "created" the same as an albino oscar or a longfin oscar.
