Short body vs Semi short

There is definitely a substantial difference other than girth of the fish. I noticed this last year with my 'semi sb' albino sen. Semi sb is basically a short length, normal proportion along the dorsal, yet with a beer gut looking belly.

true SB has the train wreck look to it, with disproportionate measurements.
 
Exactly, I just think the US sees more semi SB as the asian markets want the shortest fish possible or the longest fish possible. I say this because when I see tanks with alot of albino senegalus at different lfs (which is becoming mush more common nowadays), many seem to be semi SB with a few regular length ones. Just a thought.

Thanks for the compliments. The oddballs are out there, you just gotta look really close and always be on the look-out. Wish I could start an all short-bodied tank.
 
I've seen a short bodied Asian Aro before. It looked horrible and not at all impressive.
